Influence of location of Al castings in a heat treatment furnace on mechanical properties
Toufar, Tomáš ; Vašťák, Patrik (referee) ; Horenský, Jiří (advisor)
The present Master thesis deals with location of aluminium castings in the heat treatment furnace and its influence on mechanical properties. As testing samples for the experimental part, tensile bars were used; they were cast from the subeutetic silumin AlSi7Mg0,6. These samples were placed in the furnace in the locations where temperatures were calibrated by the furnace supplier. Then, tensile tests were performed to evaluate the resulting mechanical properties of the samples. The experiment was carried out in the foundry of non-ferrous metals, MESIT foundry Ltd., Uherské Hradiště.
Probabilistic model for textile concrete reinforcement and comparison with experiments
Lomič, Jiří ; Rypl, Rostislav (referee) ; Vořechovský, Miroslav (advisor)
The scope of the presented bachelor’s thesis was the establishment of a probabilistic model for material strength of textile reinforcement used for textile reinforced concrete. This reinforcement is composed of AR-glass multi-filament yarns. The goal of this thesis was to determine the potential weak spot of the textile yarn and evaluate its strength in overall. The weak spot could have been a lateral cross-connection, which narrowed the textile yarn at several locations. Another thing of interest was the observation of statistical size effect with the increasing length of textile yarn. In order to properly fit the numerical model to real behavior of multi-filament yarns, five series of experimental tensile testing has been executed in laboratory. Each series consisted of 8-10 specimens and had a different yarn length. Maximum tensile force and maximum deformation have been measured to obtain L-D diagrams for each specimen. Measured data were statistically analyzed and gave the information necessary for the identification of probabilistic model parameters. This parameter estimation has been carried out with the help of numerical and optimization methods included in Python programming algorithms. The problem statement resulted in a combination of model parameters describing the textile yarn behavior. The statistical size effect was observed corresponding to the Weibull theory. The performed study showed that the failure of the textile yarn depends on material strength of its filaments. There are no load concentrators at the location of lateral cross-connections affecting the yarn failure.
The use of ultrasonic testing in construction
Sztulová, Petra ; Komárková, Tereza (referee) ; Láník, Jaromír (advisor)
The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is focused on the use of ultrasonic methods in building practice. Explains here how ultrasound works. The second part focuses on the possibility of anchoring. It describes what is chemical, mechanical anchoring. It deals with the tensile testing additionally mounted chemical anchors Hilti. Primarily focuses on what happens if it fails to comply with the correct technological procedure when installing chemical anchors.
Mechanical properties of materials for 3D printing
Janiš, Adam ; Maxa, Jiří (referee) ; Vyroubal, Petr (advisor)
This thesis focuses on the description of 3D printing technologies using the FDM method, which uses deposition of molten thermoplastics and their subsequent cooling and solidification layer by layer. This unique structure then shows a strong anisotropy of mechanical properties and, as a result, their testing and print settings are very important. Tensile testing of plastic materials, including indicators of mechanical properties, are described in this thesis according to ČSN EN ISO standard. The practical part presents the concept of a device capable of performing these tests. The block diagram indicates the functional elements and the connections among them. Tensile strength test is described together with results processing. Necessary product documentation is also included.
Creation of a web application to select polymer materials based on mechanical properties for 3D printing
Kaziměrčíková, Lada ; Šafl, Pavel (referee) ; Binar, Tomáš (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with 3D printing with a focus on the FDM method. Main objective of the thesis is to develop a web application which would assist in the selection of suitable polymer materials for FDM print, based on the required mechanical properties. The web application was created in Python with the usage of Flask framework and MySQL database. In order to develop this application, it was necessary to create an overview of material properties, mainly mechanical parameters and degradation mechanisms. Subsequently, testing in a climatic chamber was done, and also hardness and tensile tests for degraded samples. The collected data serves as the base of the understanding how given mechanical parameters may affect selection of the polymer material. The thesis then offers a practical instrument to help choose right material for FDM printing projects.

Detekce různých typů defektů pomocí tahové zkoušky
Bětík, David
My bachelor´s thesis focuses on area of tree stability, description of particular defects on tree trunks and data collection using tensile test. Obtained data are then being evaluated. Further my work treats mechanical characteristics of wood and tree response to load by the means of so called adaptation growth. Evaluation of the results refers to the fact that even a significant defect on tree trunk must not have a significant influence on tree stability, but it is important that the defect is orientated.

Vliv asymetrie kořenového systému na odolnost vůči vyvrácení
Pekárek, Vladimír
This thesis deals with the stability of trees depending on the symmetry or asymmetry of the root system, collecting data using, tensile tests and procesing of data. It also works with the capabilities to deal with the asymmetry of the root system of conifers and deciduous trees using their adaptation growth. And describes the basic factors in urbanized environment acts on the root system. In the end of this thesis was proved by outcomes, that even very big asymetry of the tree doesn't have to have relevant effect on the tree stability
